The airport in Oaxaca is Xoxocotlan International Airport (OAX).  Currently, United has non-stop flights from Houston to Oaxaca (though we really miss Continental).  Most flights stop over in Mexico City. For those of you who would like to make a longer trip out of it, we highly recommend visiting Mexico City for a few days. Feel free to email us for recommendations on places to visit there. 

The Oaxaca airport is a 20 minute cab ride south of town. You can either organize transportation through your hotel, or with Transportacion Terrestre tel. +1-52-951-514-4350. Alternatively, hire a private taxi or a colectivo (offering nice new vans with shared passengers) from the ticket window at the airport. A private cab is approximately 320 pesos and a shared van is approximately 80 pesos per person. The ride is about 30mins without traffic. For your return trip please arrange a ride with Transportacion Terreste at least 24 hours in advance. You can also take a cab from Taxi Reforma or Taxi Alameda for about 150 pesos. Your hotel should be able to arrange these for you.

While in the town center, everything is a short walk from each other. You can also hail a cab or organize a taxi with your hotel.
